About Me

Allow me to introduce myself!

I'm Austin, resident of Chino, California... drummer extraordinaire... recording expert... and life-long nerd. I'm kidding, I'm kidding... though a nerd for sure! ;)

Throughout my childhood, I spent a lot of time with my grandfather and the drums he played. He was so expressive and I wanted to learn what playing was like. My parents, very reasonably, wanted to wait until I was a bit older before inviting that kind of noise into the house. It was at the age of 11 I was allowed to have a drum kit and a teacher to put me on track. I was thrilled.

I kept up with my practice over the years and was deemed worthy to perform with two separate bands in my senior high school battle-of-the-bands. I felt on top of the world, at least in my little pond. I had to keep the momentum going in college and pursue music! My parents agreed but my mom told me to take some recording classes as well, just in case.

After my college auditions I was invited to join jazz combos, pop band 4, and musicianship. Still new and full of enthusiasm, I hopped on the kit to play my first song with the pop band and... I blew it. The teacher stopped the band mid-song because I sucked. That was a huge wake-up slap. I was ashamed, embarrassed, you name it.

But I wasn't going to give up.

I dug my heels in and started practicing like my life depended on it. Criticism was my best friend and I didn't take it personally... most of the time, haha. Through much, much practice I made it to the top pop band in the department and was able to start touring and performing in public with them. At the same time I was passing my recording classes with flying colors. The experience gained was invaluable and I'm ever-thankful for my professors who guided and pushed me to improve.

I'm a 2014 graduate of Citrus College with an A.S. in Recording Technology and a minor in Music Performance. After college I started working live sound gigs, recording sessions, and performing with local bands honing my craft until the right opportunity would arise.

I wasn't interested in streaming until 2020.

This is when I joined a corporate live streaming company as an audio tech. My boss quickly saw potential in me and gave me the opportunity to learn marketing and video production. This company taught me a number of skills like how to set-up a visually appealing stream, camera fundamentals, team leadership, and so on. Eventually I would take part in promotion and building marketing plans for the company and it made me realize its significance.

Then I thought about my education.

I know firsthand how frustrating it is to join and finish a music program without being taught how to promote. This an insanely important skill in today's world and a disservice not to teach it. Even if you take music business classes, it can be hard to gain the essential knowledge needed to start promoting effectively. I didn't in my classes; I was taught music law and how record deals work. Was I taught a way to get my name out and get that deal? Not really.

I recalled the many recording sessions I had engineered, some of them recording drums exclusively. These sessions would cost hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. Then it's on the songwriter to promote effectively and have their investment pay off... but a lot of the time it doesn't. It hurt to see genuinely good music forgotten to time. In extreme cases these writers would lose hope and drop music altogether. But that's when I saw the opportunity to build something unique.

I can do drums! I know how to stream!

Since I stream from home, we don't have to book studio time, lug equipment, set-up, tear-down, travel, etc. This is significantly easier and allows me to offer my services at an affordable rate! As an added bonus, having the session accessible from any computer or mobile device opens up new possibilities for many artists!

Most importantly, viewers are listening to new music and finding their new favorite artist while hanging out!

If you're serious about growing your songwriting presence I want to help. The goal of my platform is to create a community and viewer-base that helps songwriters promote their music. If you want to hang out and listen to some good music, please do! If you're serious about your music and want to step it up, let's get started! Look forward to seeing you!
